History of the project

The first phase to be implemented from the initial Master Plan completed in 2010, this one-story 750 student Brownsboro Elementary School will be constructed in harmony with the surrounding site. The layout creates a compact plan to minimize hallway lengths creating an intimate learning environment.  Additionally the mass of the school is broken up into separate wings, bringing down the scale of the building while allowing a small tower to function as a clear entry marker at the parent drop off point.

Oldham County Schools has used a “campus concept” successfully at the other Oldham County campuses. With the acquisition of the 95-acre former nursery property, the relationship of elementary, middle and high school programmatic requirements could be properly and successfully planned. Future areas of the campus that typically can be shared (band and choral programs, auditorium, athletics, etc.) are integrated into the concept.
